Past Milestones

Apart from the awards bagged by his company, Dr Vikram Shah developed and perfected the 0 technique in total knee replacement [TKR] surgery, where the main steps of the operation are done with minimal invasion and very fast, about 8-10 minutes. TKR used to take many hours before a decade.

This minimally invasive and fast method of surgery has initiated a revolution in the history of TKR. Now all TKR surgeries are done by 0 technique. The patient is able to walk a few hours after surgery as usually there is not catheter and no drain in the surgical wound. The incision is small and hence the pain is relatively less. The blood loss is minimal.
