  •     Liposuction (Permanent unwanted fat removal by key hole surgery)

Also known as lipoplasty, liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits. It thus improves the body contour and proportion that helps enhance ones self image. Despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.

Liposuction techniques may be used to reduce localized fat deposits of the:

  •     Thighs
  •     Hips and buttocks
  •     Abdomen and waist
  •     Upper arms
  •     Back
  •     Inner knee
  •     Chest area
  •     Cheeks, chin and neck
  •     Calves and ankles

In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it is used with plastic surgery procedures such as a face lift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck.
      What it won’t do?
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite. Cellulites is referred to the dimpled appearance of skin caused by the protrusion of subcutaneous adipose tissue that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks, or loose saggy skin.

  •     Tummy tuck

Also known as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. Also, a tummy tuck can correct stretch marks, if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be excised, generally those treated areas below the belly button.

A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many  strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Even individuals of otherwise normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging. The most common causes of this include:

  •     Pregnancy
  •     ageing
  •     Significant fluctuations in weight
  •     Heredity
  •     Prior surgery

One should postpone a Tummy tuck planning for substantial weight loss or pregnancy in future. Tummy tuck surgery is most rewarding and gratifying for patients as well as the surgeon . Many of the patients notice decrease in abdominal girth by 10 to 14 inches, after tummy tuck surgery.

  •     Arm lift (Corrects upper arm skin laxity)

Also known as brachioplasty, an arm lift reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow. Fluctuations in weight, growing older and even heredity can cause the upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. Exercise may strengthen and improve the underlying muscle tone of the upper arm, but it cannot address excess skin that has lost elasticity or the underlying weakened tissues and localized fat deposits. If the underside of the upper arms are sagging or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat, an arm lift may be just the right thing to do.

An arm lift:

Reduces excess skin and fat between the underarm and the elbow
Reshapes your arm to result in smoother skin and contours
Results in a more toned and proportionate appearance

A special note: In order to achieve an improved image, there will be a slight scar on the inside of the upper arm.

  •     Cosmetic surgery after major weight loss

Following weight reduction surgery, or any substantial amount of weight loss, the skin and tissues often lack elasticity and cannot conform to the reduced body size. As a result, skin that has been severely stretched now remains  unsupported:

Upper arms may sag and appear loose and full
Breasts may flatten and hang with nipples pointed downward
Abdominal area may extend around the sides and into the lower back area, resulting in an apron-like overhang
Buttocks, groin and thighs can sag and cause hanging pockets of skin

Surgical body contouring following major weight loss improves the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports fat and skin, and removes excess sagging fat and skin. The result is a more normal appearance of  the body, with smoother contours. This is, in essence, the final phase of the total weight loss experience.

Before   undergoing body contouring following major weight loss, the weight loss must be stabilized. If one has had    weight reduction surgery, we  work closely with the physician to determine when it is appropriate to begin body contouring.

  •     Breast enlargement

Also known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation involves using implants to fulfill the desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. If  one is dissatisfied with  breast size, augmentation surgery is a choice to consider

Breast augmentation can:

Increase fullness and projection of your breasts
Improve the balance of your figure
    Enhance your self-image and self-confidence

Implants also may be used to reconstruct a breast after mastectomy or injury.

What it won’t do
Breast augmentation does not correct severely drooping breasts. If you want your breasts to look fuller and to be lifted due to sagging, a breast lift may be required in conjunction with breast augmentation.
Breast lifting can often be done at the same time as your augmentation.

  •     Breast Lift

A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Weight fluctuations, ageing, Gravity or Heredity. Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.

Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can rejuvenate the figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted.

A breast lift is a good option for you if:

  1.     There is a feeling that the  breasts have sagged, or  lost shape and volume
  2.     The breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous
  3.     When unsupported, the nipples fall below the breast crease
  4.     The nipples and areolas point downward
  5.     The skin is  stretched  and the areola are enlarged
  6.     One breast is lower than the other

  •     Breast Reduction

Women with extremely large breasts may become  self-conscious about their appearance  to the extent of camouflaging their body shape by wearing baggy clothing, and avoiding social and recreational activities. In some severe cases, women turn introvert, reclusive and depressed. Breast reduction surgery is often done for medical reasons, rather than cosmetic reasons.
The ‘short scar’ breast reduction
Breast reduction involves removal of excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin. Nipple and areola are moved into their new position. Skin from both sides of the breast  is brought down and around the areola, shaping the new contour of the breast. Liposuction may be used to remove excess fat from the armpit area. Stitches are usually located around the areola and in a vertical line extending downward. This  relatively new technique eliminates the horizontal scar below the breasts and it maintains breast projection (or height) over time

Tumescent Liposuction of the Female Breast
Liposuction of the female breast can produce both a significant breast reduction and a moderate but gratifying breast lift.

The use of micro cannula permits breast reduction with minimal postoperative pain, rapid postoperative recovery, quick return to normal activities, and virtually no scarring. The micro cannula permit a smaller skin
incision and take out smaller amounts of fat with each pass, offering more control when needed. This breast lift is the result of the reduced weight of the breast, which allows the breasts' natural elastic properties to contract and produce elevation. The breasts do not change shape after tumescent liposuction, they simply become smaller and somewhat elevated.

Limitations of Breast Reduction by Liposuction:

Skin excess can not be corrected
Only fat can be sucked out from the breast , breast tissue can not be reduced

  •     Chest enlargement in man

Gynecomastia, a condition of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men, is common in men of any age. It can be the result of weight gain, hormonal changes, heredity , disease or the use of certain drugs. Gynecomastia can cause emotional discomfort and impair  self confidence. Some men may even avoid certain physical activities like swimming and intimacy simply to hide their condition.

Gynecomastia is characterized by:

    Excess localized fat
    Excess glandular tissue development
A combination of both excess fat and glandular tissue
Gynecomastia may be present unilaterally (one breast) or bilaterally (both breasts).

This procedure is a good option for  if one us  is bothered by the feeling that the breasts are too large. In most of cases merely liposuction is sufficient, in several cases breast tissue needs to be excised by a small cut.

  •     Eyelid lift - Blepharoplasty

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and give a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area of the  eyes, making the appearance  more  fresh and alert.

Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat:

Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids
    Bags under the eyes
Droopiness of the lower eyelids, showing white below the iris (colored portion of the eye)
Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid

One must inform, in case of   any of these medical conditions:

Eye disease such as glaucoma, dry eye or a detached retina
Thyroid disorders such as Graves’ disease and under or overactive thyroid
Cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or other circulatory disorders or diabetes

  •     Fat Injection of face (Restoration of the fullness of youth)

Ageing is inevitable, it’s a complex phenomenon. Young face looks full, the framework has very smooth, ample distribution of fat and each area blends into the neighboring area seamlessly. The forehead and cheek has youthful convex arc.

Who is a good candidate for Fat Injection?
Patients who have signs of facial ageing (volume loss but skin elasticity is good) can benefit from Fat Injection. In many patients, signs of facial ageing are about loss of volume resulting in sagging cheeks and jowls, hollow depressions around the orbital regions, bags under the eyes and skeletinization of the face in general. Women in particular tend to notice the effects of ageing in and around their mouth and eyebrow.

What is Fat Rebalancing ?
The goal of rebalancing the "hills" and "valleys" of the face is easily accomplished by the micro-liposuction of the fatty "hills" and fat transfer to the sunken "valleys." it restores harmony to the face without altering facial features. This gives softer, healthier and more youthful appearance.

During consultation a patient is asked to bring his or her  younger  photograph at least by 10 to 15 yrs . The patient’s face is examined in relation to this  photograph . A "blueprint" of the areas to be augmented with fat and the areas to be suctioned is designed. Micro-liposuction is accomplished by specialized micro instruments; it is also helpful to tighten the skin to give youthful look.

Now the fat is removed by non-traumatic way from the patient’s donor site, such as the buttock, thigh or abdomen. This fat is refined using centrifugation, which yields the highest stem cell concentration. This  fat rich in stem cells, is grafted into the muscles of face where the  vasculature is rich and abundant, thus making it an excellent recipient bed and viable host. The collected fat is injected to all layers of the tissue starting closest to the bone. Fat is not only placed in the folds of the skin, but in deep tissue to "suspend" the skin.

This procedure is perfect for the 55-year-old who wants to look like she or he did at 40 or the 40-year-old who wants to look 30 again"

How long does the result last?
The result may sustain for about seven or eight years.

Recovery
Patients can expect minimal bruising or swelling and can return to work or their usual activities within 2-3 days.

  •     Acne scar reduction

Acne is one of most common skin conditions afflicting nearly 80 percent of people aged 11 to 30 years.  However, acne is not restricted to specific age groups. Adults in their 20s, 30s and even into their 40s can get acne. Most cases of acne respond to treatment and clears up without leaving scars. Severe, inflamed, cystic acne always leaves scars after healing. A number of treatments are available to remove or improve acne scars. The type and depth of scars influences the choice of treatment to a large degree.

Treatment of Acne Scars:

  •     Chemical peels

Medium depth chemical peel (like M Y Peel) can improve acne scars up to certain extent. More than one peels may be necessary to improve deep or extensive scarring. It also tightens and lightens the skin.

  •     Dermabrasion

Traditional dermabrasion can reach deeper layers of skin than a chemical peel. But one must be ready to accept the downtime and strict postoperative care.

  •     Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion also known as skin polishing is milder form of dermabrasion. Virtually there is no downtime and complications, but changes are subtle and needs multiple sessions.

  •     Soft-tissue augmentation

It can correct some atrophic (loss of tissue) scars. An injection of subcutaneous fat  under the scars elevates them to bring the surface of the scars even with the surface of surrounding skin.
Punch Excision, Punch Elevation and Punch graft
This method of surgically correcting acne scars is used on deep scars such as icepick and deep boxcar scars. Under local anesthesia the scar is excised with the punch tool and the skin edges are sutured together, or  instead of suturing the skin edges together, the defect is filled with a punch skin graft usually taken from behind the ear. Alternatively scar is excised from the walls of the scar leaving the base of the scar intact. The excised base is then elevated to the surface of the skin and attached with sutures, steri-strips, or skin glue.
    Subcutaneous Incision
Subcutaneous incision, also known as Subscision, is used to break up the fibrous bands that cause rolling scars. Subscision is performed under local anesthesia by inserting a specially beveled needle under the skin so that it is parallel to the skin surface.

  •     Derma roller treatment

This process induces collagen production which is responsible for more strength and elasticity and fills up the depth of pits and thereby reducing the scars. The Derma roller has special medical graded stainless steel needless that perforate the scar tissue easily. The scars become softer less elevated and in most cases give natural appearance.

  •     Fractional Laser treatment

Fractional resurfacing is a cosmetic treatment that employs a laser to remove wrinkles, reduce acne scarring and  alleviate dark pigmentation. The laser delivers a series of microscopic, closely spaced laser spots to the skin while simultaneously preserving the normal healthy skin between. This preservation of healthy skin results in rapid healing following the laser treatment. Fractional lasers strive to achieve the skin improvements obtained with ablative lasers without the associated side effects or downtime.

  •     Face Lift

The face usually portrays the first visible signs of ageing. Both gravity and diminished volume result in the facial features of ageing. There are many different variations of the face lift procedure that smooth the skin of the face and neck, tighten the underlying tissues and muscle, and remove excess skin. Ultimately, the face lift will  turn back the hands of time to better reflect a  youthful spirit. Generally, a face lift is a very versatile procedure, and according to the magnitude of problem and your expectation, surgical plan is designed.

  • How is a face lift performed?

The face lift procedure usually involves incisions in front of and behind the ear. The incisions may extend into the scalp. Once the incisions are made, various degrees of undermining of the skin are performed, and the deeper layers of the face are ‘lifted’. Muscle tightening as well as liposuction of the neck and jowls may be performed, and excess skin is either removed or repositioned.

  • Results of Your Face lift

The results of a  face lift may be subtle or dramatic, depending on the  appearance prior to the surgery as well as the specific goals established. Since the healing process is gradual, one  should expect to wait several weeks for an accurate picture of the “new look”emerges. Additional minor changes or settling may occur over several months following the  Face Lift surgery.

  • Short-scar face lift

A short-scar face lift (or "minimal-incision face lift") is a face lift that repositions the skin and soft tissues of the face that have been affected by the ageing process. The principle difference between a short-scar lift and other, "traditional" face lifts is that the short-scar lift leaves behind a  significantly reduced scar burden. The scarring in the crease behind the ear and in the hairline behind the ear is largely or completely eliminated.
The procedure is a multi-layer, multi-vector lift where the internal soft tissue structures (the so-called "SMAS" layer and malar fat pad) are adjusted separately from the overlying skin.

  •     BOTOX® Injections

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX®, is a popular non-surgical treatment that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that BOTOX is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.

  •     Dermafiller - soft tissue augmentation

The visible signs of facial ageing occur over time as a result of sun exposure, heredity and life style.
One of the earliest signs of ageing is a loss of facial fullness and the development of wrinkles. Softening of these facial lines and the restoration of volume and fullness in the face often can be achieved non-surgically with injectable fillers.

If one would like to restore facial contours, or reduce the appearance of lines and creases, injection therapy with soft tissue fillers may be just be the right thing to choose .

Injectable fillers can:

  1.     Plump thin lips
  2.     Enhance shallow contours
  3.     Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  4.     Improve the appearance of recessed scars

      What it won’t do:

Soft tissue augmentation does not stop the ageing process. If you wish to change the elements of your face, surgery such as a face lift, brow lift or eye lift may be the answer.
Non-surgical rejuvenation treatments such as injectable fillers cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time at which a face lift becomes appropriate.

  •     Laser hair removal

The best way to achieve permanent body hair reduction is from cosmetic laser. Laser body hair removal is a fast and highly effective alternative to other body hair removal techniques such as tweezing, shaving, bleaching, waxing, threading, creams, and electrolysis.

How it works?
Permanent laser hair removal lasers emit a special light that passes through the skin to target the melanin (color) in the hair follicle. This causes damage to the hair follicle and causes the hair to fall out. These lasers are specially designed to damage and destroy large areas of hair in a short amount of time. These lasers are so safe and effective that permanent laser hair removal can be performed on all body parts including the legs, arms, bikini line, underarms, face, and back.

How many Sessions are required?
Five to six sessions of permanent laser hair removal is the average number of sessions that a patient will require  to achieve their desired results

Laser hair removal is safe, effective, speedy and painless.
